TOWN CLERK: Responsible position to maintain Town’s official records, attend Town Council and other meetings, see that minutes and agendas are produced, and provide customer service to residents. Desire municipal or other government experience, excellent writing skills, and attention to detail. Front office supervisory and web experience a plus.
POLICE OFFICER: (One current vacancy) [The Town of Centreville recruits for this position year-round to assure a pool of qualified applicants when positions are available.] Maryland Police Training Commission Certification desired, although applicants without experience are encouraged to apply. PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYEE - Part Time: [The Town of Centreville recruits for this position year-round to assure a pool of qualified applicants when positions are available. Applicants are encouraged to apply although there are no current vacancies.] Laborer position assisting in maintenance of the Town’s streets, lawns, water and sewer mains. Responsibilities include fixing potholes, painting parking lines, bulk trash pick up, operating equipment, assisting in the repair of water and sewer lines. Must have mechanical aptitude, pass physical examination, and possess the ability to follow directions. Completion of the eighth grade and Maryland Drivers License required.
WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR or TRAINEE: [The Town of Centreville recruits for this position year-round to assure a pool of qualified applicants when positions are available. Applicants are encouraged to apply although there are no current vacancies.] Utility positions operating the Town’s water and wastewater facilities under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and DPW. A high school diploma and Maryland Drivers License are required. Possession of appropriate Maryland water and wastewater certification or ability to obtain temporary certification a must. Experience in operations of water and wastewater facilities, particularly Town of Centreville facilities, is desired.
