View CalendarThe purpose of the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) is to advise the Town of Centreville, through the Town Manager, to promote the protection, maintenance and enhancement of all aspects of the natural environment in order to protect and improve the quality of life of those who life and work in the Town of Centreville, both now and in the future. The EAC will recognize the need for Town growth under an approved Comprehensive Plan while continuing to provide for the conservation of habitat and the protection of water quality in the Town.
The Environmental Advisory Committee also serves as the Centreville Green Team. The purpose of the green team is to develop and implement a Sustainable Action Plan as well as:
- more environmentally sound by reducing the impacts of growth on natural resources and the environment;
- more economically productive by making local investments that will protect human and natural resources while yielding adequate financial returns; and
- more socially just by providing equitable access to resources and decision making processes in ways that benefit all parts of the community.
The Environmental Advisory Committee/Green Team meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. – Centreville Wharf Building, 101 Water Way (Watson Road), First Floor Meeting Room.
