Description

Centreville Wharf Park Improvements Underway

The Town of Centreville is excited to announce that improvements to Wharf Park are officially underway as part of our continued investment in providing high-quality recreational spaces for our residents and visitors. The Town anticipates the overall project will be completed in Fall 2026, weather permitting and dependent upon construction conditions.

Current Project

Construction is currently in progress on several enhancements, including:

  • New Bandshell Construction
  • Parking Lot Expansion

These improvements are designed to increase accessibility, enhance community events, and better serve the growing number of visitors who enjoy the Wharf Park throughout the year.

Temporary Parking Lot Closure

To safely complete construction, the Wharf Park parking lot will be temporarily closed beginning April 6, 2026.

Temporary parking will be available across the street in the designated roped parking area.

Pedestrian access to the Wharf Park will remain open throughout construction.

Next Phase

Following completion of the current improvements, the project will move into its final phase:

  • Parking Lot Paving

Project Funding

These improvements are being completed through funding provided by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Community Parks and Playground Grant Program. This grant investment allows the Town to enhance one of Centreville's premier public parks while continuing to provide exceptional recreational opportunities for the community.

Thank You for Your Patience

We understand that temporary inconveniences may occur during construction, and we sincerely appreciate the community's patience and support while these exciting improvements are underway.

These upgrades will create a more functional, accessible, and enjoyable Wharf Park for generations to come.
