Waste Water Treatment Plant Upgrade and Expansion

Project Type:
Capital Project
Project Status:
Under Review

Our Town's wastewater (WW) treatment facility is in desperate need of an upgrade.  Our current capacity is .542 MGD(million gallons per day) and we are utilizing approximately 80% of the current capacity.  This project is to propose an increase of .458 MGD for a total capacity of 1MGD.  Here you will find documentation and information to provide residents with continuity, clarity, and progress updates as the project moves through each milestone.

With an increase in capacity, the Town will have to seek options for discharge and disposal of excess waste.  Currently, we are discharging to the water reuse farm through spray irrigation from April 1 - Nov 30 and to Gravel Run from Dec 1 - Mar 31.  The Town is proposing to manage the plant's effluent flow by maximizing the use of the existing spray field in combination with discharge to a new Corsica River outfall within the TMDL limits.  During the irrigation season, the current permitted flow (.542 MGD) will be discharged to the spray irrigation field with the remaining effluent flows (.458 MGD) routed to the proposed Corsica River outfall.

Please feel free to submit any questions using the form link below.  The questions and answers will be posted to the project site biweekly.
