2022 Town of Centreville Election

Notice

This is to advise all eligible voters in the Town of Centreville, Maryland that a regular election will be held at the Queen Anne’s County Office Building, Planning & Zoning meeting room, 110 Vincit Street, Centreville, Maryland on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing two (2) Town Council Members for a three-year term.  Each voter will be able to vote for up to two (2) candidates.

The following named persons have filed and qualified for the office:

  • Jim A. Beauchamp
  • Jeffrey D. Kiel
  • Timothy E. McCluskey
  • Daniel B. Worth

The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Absentee Ballots

If you are interested in receiving an absentee ballot, please contact Town Hall at 410-758-1180 or email Carolyn Brinkley, Town Clerk at cbrinkley@townofcentreville.org to request an absentee ballot application or download by clicking this link.  Absentee ballots will be available after September 7, 2022.  Once the application is received and your voter registration is verified, a ballot will be mailed to complete and return to Town Hall.  Absentee ballots may be requested for any reason until September 26th at 4:30 p.m. The Town of Centreville takes no responsibility for delays that may occur with the postal service.

UPCOMING ELECTION OF TWO (2) COUNCIL MEMBERS

This is to advise any Prospective Candidate for the Office of Town Council Member, to be voted on Monday, October 3, 2022 that they must personally appear at the Centreville Town Hall, and sign a Certificate of Nomination, as well as, file a Financial Disclosure Statement during normal business hours until 4:00 p.m. on the first Monday in August (August 1, 2022).  Pursuant to the Town of Centreville Charter, no person shall file a Certificate of Nomination for more than one elective public office at any time.

Qualifications to be a Town Council Member are as follows:

Candidate must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age; Candidate must have resided in the Town for at least two (2) years immediately preceding their election; and Candidate shall be a registered voter of the Town of Centreville for at least six (6) months immediately preceding their election.

Two (2) seats are open for the October 3, 2022 election which are three-year terms.

All Certificates of Nomination and Financial Disclosure Statements must be filed in Town Hall during normal business hours until 4:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, to be eligible for inclusion on the October 3, 2022 ballot.
