Designated Maryland Main Street

Main Street is a national movement designed to revitalize and strengthen local business communities and neighborhoods. Centreville is one of 26 Main Street programs in Maryland. Nationally, Main Street is a network of more than 2,000 community programs that includes 37 statewide programs, seven citywide programs, and two regional programs.

Maryland Sustainable Community

The Sustainable Communities program enables collaboration aimed at increasing transit oriented development and improving commercial and housing opportunities in existing rural, suburban and urban communities around Maryland. In 2012, Centreville was selected as having identified a specific local area in need of revitalization and has created a comprehensive strategy to encourage and guide local investment. Centreville’s proposal focuses on improvements that will enhance outdoor activities and thus boost economic development in the town.

Tree City USA

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service. Centreville was named Tree City USA for two years for our commitment to urban forestry and met the four standards to become a Tree City USA community.
