Effective July 1, 2026, Bigg Tyme Trash will begin Trash Services for the Town of Centreville. Trash will be picked up on Thursday morning beginning at 6:00 a.m. Please have trash out at the curb prior to 6:00 a.m., as routes may change from week to week and pick-up times may vary. Recycling services are no longer offered for curbside pick-up, but there are two recycling centers located in town limits. There are no changes to the Yard Waste schedule at this time.
Yard waste service is from March 16, 2026, to December 7, 2026. Pick up is every Monday beginning at 6:00 a.m. and is collected by Downes Lawn Service.
Trash
Please remember the following for household garbage:
- A maximum of 96-gallons of trash per household.
- All cans/carts must be placed at the curb no later than 6:00 a.m. Thursday, but no earlier than 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening (beginning July 1, 2026)
- All garbage must be in bags, inside of cans or carts and have a SECURED LID.
Lids Required for Trash Cans
Due to complaints regarding the smell of garbage trucks due to the water being released from the truck during transport, it has been requested that citizens ensure lids are properly secured on all garbage cans. This will reduce the amount of water emptied into the trucks and help eliminate additional water being released from the trucks during transport causing the unpleasant smells. Thank you for your cooperation.

Recycling
- Curbside recycling is no longer available after July 1, 2026. There are two recycling centers located behind the Health Department on Banjo Lane, and behind the Goodwill Fire House on Powell Street (use of the Fire Company entrance is prohibited).
Items to recycle:
- Glass jars and bottles with lids removed.
- Plastic jugs and bottles with caps removed.
- Aluminum and steel cans, not crushed or flattened.
- Corrugated card board and paper board boxes, flattened.
- Office papers, newspapers, phone books, paperback books, magazines, catalogs, cards, mail.
Yard Waste
Yard waste is collected by Downes Lawn Service. Yard waste pick-up will begin on Monday, March 16, 2026, and will continue for the year until December 7, 2026. Yard waste pick-up will not occur from mid-December through mid-March.
Trees, limbs or branches should be placed curbside (not in the roadway) by 6:00 a.m. Mondays. Yard Waste pick-up will not occur during mid-December, January, February, and mid-March.
Branches may not be longer than 3 feet. Logs and bundles of branches may not weigh more than 40 pounds. Leaves and grass clippings shall be in baskets, cans, or containers, which shall not exceed 40 lbs. They shall not be placed in gutters nor streets. A maximum amount collected will be 10 bags.
